“Two roads diverged in a wood and I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.”

– Robert Frost

Arthurs Point

The settlement is nestled above the mountain village of Arthurs Point. Currently experiencing a renaissance of sorts due to its strategic location, casual vibe, and emerging hospitality scene, this is an evolution anchored by a spirited local community. A town in those wonderful working stages that many will wish they were part of years from now.

Singing powerful karakia, it was Tū Te Raki Whanoa who carved steep rock faces with adze to create the valleys, mountains and rivers that formed Te Waipounamu - The South Island of New Zealand - including the Southern Alps. With his kin he cloaked the land in forest and filled the rivers with fish.

Later, Rākaihautū created the lake system using his ko as he explored the inland regions. His ancestors still live here, united under Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.

Steeped in Maori lore and worshipped by all who have followed. This is a place of reverence and connection, abundance and reflection. Queenstown - Tapuna - Whakatipu
